The only differences between holomelas and edwardsi were colouration and size. As no morphological differences have been noticed between the two taxa, I would say that holomelas is just a melanistic version (or just a darker form) of edwardsi. The reason holomelas it is claimed to be smaller than edawrdsi is because all specimens caught have been significantly smaller. However this may be due to a bias in the rate of predation, as holomelas wouldn't be as well camouflaged and would be more easily visible to predators. It would therefore, on average, not survive as long (and hence not grow as large) as edwardsi. However, I may be wrong, but the lack of any definitive morphological differences whatsoever between the two taxa indiciate to me that they are conspecific.

Baghira, are you sure it has been deleted? Because I cannot find anything about it in the forum's Security Log (in which I can see all modifications, moves and deletions). When was that thread posted? And around what time its last post? So that I can search better in the Security Log. Our policy is not to delete such threads. And certainly not without discussion. Only spam etc.

It definitely isn't in the Holocene extinct Primates area now (there are only 28 entries, less than a page) so it would be impossible to miss it, so it must have been deleted (though sometime ago if it doesn't show up in the Security Log). Unless there is a small chance that you never posted such a thread Baghira?

The problem is that the search function isn't working properly. Maybe someone should take some time and search for this thread manually.

I reported the search engine problems again to Proboards. See if we get an answer. Also searching manually I cannot find the thread. It seems it isn't here as suggested. If it has been here before, I guess it has somehow been deleted, although at the moment I cannot see or find when or why.

I will close this topic as Baghira deleted his posts in this thread, see also his post in the off-topic section. I guess somehow resolved.
