Justification:
Acanthothericles bicoloripes is only known from one location (Morogoro, Tanzania), where the species has not been recorded since 1939 (Descamps 1977). Due to its small range and the ongoing loss of its habitat caused by deforestation, it is assessed as Critically Endangered. The species is possibly extinct as no recent records exist despite some research in the area.
