The Cederberg Shieldback (Namaquadectes irroratus) has only been found at two locations in the Cederberg Mountains of Western Cape Province, South Africa. The holotype was collected in 1916 and a second specimen was collected in 2008 by Rika du Plessis, manager of the Matjiesrivier Nature Reserve. Despite frequent and extensive searches, no more specimens have been recovered, nor do other specimens exist in museum collections. www.iucnredlist.org/details/20659710/0
