This species has been recorded only from the Glorioso Islands (Grande Glorieuse and Île du Lys), part of the Mozambique Channel Islands in the French Southern Territories. As this species is known only from century old records, it's uncertain that the locality data for Île du Lys is accurate, in which case it may be restricted to Grande Glorieuse (M. Sanchez pers. comm. 2020).

The species has not been collected since 1906 (one specimen collected in 1905 and two in 1906) (Sanchez et al. 2019).
