I have always had an intrest in animals and the variety and different species they consist of. Being able to view a extensive database of animals that are now extinct in this great website is .. great I look forward to more updates, and hope to see these animals brought back some day through cloning ect and this website even covers news and updates in those areas. I want my appreciation to be known and say thanks to Peter, who made the website, and can I ask how you have so much knowledge on the subject? Is your job associated with animals?

Thank you very much for your compliment, Ben! ;D
The websites is indeed under construction, but will be restored to its old glory as soon as possible I hope! Each week or month more new updated!
And yes, I've made this website, mainly because I was shocked by the amount of species and subspecies that became extinct in the past 500 years! I didn't know that it were so many! So I've made this website to tell it to other people. The more people know of this the more they will do to protect the earth's biodiversity!
I've got the knowledge, by searching the web alot, mailing people, reading books, and my future job is indeed associated with animals. I study now animal management in the Netherlands with the specialization: Wildlife Management & Zoos.
That study is also a great information resource!

Even though it is an older post, I completely agree with the first post. It is next to impossible to find the information that I find on this website. Most other websites just have information on the most popular extinctions. After reading the hundreds of other extinctions that I did not know about, it is amazing what we really have done to our world. It is very interesting but also very sad. Thanks for creating this website Peter, it is awesone!
