Justification

Somatogyrus amnicoloides is known from only one locality in Arkansas, USA. Despite recent surveys this species has not been found and it is now thought to be extinct.

Rounded Global Status: GX - Presumed Extinct
Reasons: Presumably not documented from the Ouachita River, Arkansas in recent times (Burch and Tottenham 1980).

Global Range Comments: Only known from a fossil in the Ouachita River in southwestern Arkansas. Recent efforts to locate more specimens have been unsuccessful.
