Hypsipetes sp. — Cowles (1987: p. 99) mentioned but did not describe a Hypsipetes bulbul collected in 1974 from caves on the Plaine Corail. I have since identified a number of cranial and post-cranial elements discovered in Caverne Poule Rouge, Caverne Bambara II and Caverne Gastonia. A Rodrigues bulbul was never recorded in the early literature, so the reasons for its extinction are unclear. Hume, Julian Pender. (2013).
