Justification: This species is endemic to the Seychelles island of Silhouette where it has only been recorded from Mare aux Cochons.
The only known locality was a high altitude marsh which was drained for agriculture in the 20th century. In 1972, at the time of the last collection of the species, the Mare aux Cochons site was partly agricultural and partly native marshy woodland. Since 1972 the site has been abandoned and is now a monoculture of coffee trees resulting from the abandoned plantation. This supports a very reduced fauna and may no longer be suitable for I. lomani. The estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are both 5 km2, based on the area of appropriate habitat remaining. If this species survives it will be threatened by habitat deterioration caused by to the effects of invasive plant species, especially the tree Cinnamomum verum. Therefore, it is assessed as Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct).
