The National Collections of Natural History Tel Aviv University Annual Report 2011/2012.
Less than five living specimens of Xerocrassa davidiana picardi were found in an area of a few square meters still covered with the original vegetation. The last stronghold of this extremely rare and endangered taxon is now more or less completely destroyed. In spite of our continues warnings (Rittner & Mienis, 2011) we failed in encouraging local rangers of the Nature Reserves and National Parks Authority to show any interest in the problematic matter in order to save Xerocrassa davidiana picardi from becoming extinct.
