This species is only known from the type locality, Limestone Downs Station, Waikato, North Island, New Zealand (Haase 2008). It was known from an extremely small limestone habitat of less than 1 km2. Intensive search at the type locality and nearby sites in 2002 and 2003 failed to find the species.
This species was originally collected in 1981. Return surveys to the type locality and the surrounding area failed to find any records of the species in 2002 and 2003.
