Delamarephorura tami was only known from Bai Voi hill in the Hon Chong hills area of Viet Nam. The site of its original collection is the only site where it has been collected in 2004, and has now been destroyed by quarrying. There have been many samples collected from this hill and surrounding areas since 2004, but the species has never been found again in spite of active search (Deharveng, L. et al. 2009, Vermeulen, J. et al. 2015). It is possible that the species still exists elsewhere on Nui Bai Voi or nearby hills, but further surveys are required to confirm this. The only known site where this springtail was known from has now been destroyed. It was found in 2004, but the species has never been found again in spite of active search. It is possible that the species still exists elsewhere on the same hill, but further surveys are required to confirm this. If it does still exist it is likely that it has a very restricted range. The habitat continues to decline as a result of mining activities in the area. It is therefore assessed as Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct)."
