"The St Francis Island population (of B. p. penicillata) became extinct some time between the 1920s and 1971." "Despite unconfirmed sightings on the Eyre Peninsula in the 1980s (of B. p. penicillata), it is believed the species survives naturally only as populations of B. p. ogilbyi in south-west WA."
