"The species is only known from Lugu Lake on the border of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces (Liang 2004). The lake has experienced heavy siltation due to deforestation of the surrounding area, extending up to 100 m from the lake margin. Additionally, several exotic fish species have been introduced, most problematic of which is Pseudorasbora parva (Xie and Chen 1999). This species is now dominating the fish population in the lake and is known to heavily predate on the eggs of other fish species, and has caused the extinction of endemic fish species. Predation by this species on the shrimp species is highly likely. As the area of the lake is 48.45 km2, the species is considered Critically Endangered under Criteria B1ab(iii). Urgent surveys are required to establish if the species is still present in the lake." Source: www.iucnredlist.org/details/197693/0
