"The species is only known from the type series, collected in 1957 from a spring (Cal Galloan) in northern Somalia. In recent decades, northern Somalia has experienced severe droughts which have led to many water courses being depleted of water. This has further put pressure on wells and springs in the area, where water extraction has been well above average. As the species is only known from a single location, with a known EOO of less than 100 km2 and known AOO of less than 10 km2, it is considered as critically Endangered under criteria B1ab(iii)+2ab(iii). Urgent surveys are required to establish if the species still is present in this location (and if it could be more widespread)." Source: www.iucnredlist.org/details/198081/0
