Lost Animals (in Japanese) The book by WWF Japan is the cornerstone of the whole research. It was summarized by the release from a Japanese TV program that broadcast sad stories of each species that became extinct after the late 19th century. It is one of the most recommended books. It is a sort of "The Doomsday Book of Animals." There are clear, literary descriptions and extinct reasons of each species in a refined style of writing. Also, there are their illustrations in black and white in a blend of graphite and pen and ink by Mike Jepson. Why were a lot of animals lost from the Earth? A requiem for all living things pushed into an abyss of extinction since Cook's voyages. The Earth is not our human beings'. Caucasian Bison, Caribbean Monk Seal, Toolache Wallaby, Gull Island Vole, Delalande's Coua, Quagga, Carolina Parrot, Princeps (Papilio) phorbanta nana on the cover. www.amazon.co.jp/失われた動物たち―20世紀絶滅動物の記録-世界自然保護基金日本委員会/dp/490664600X an example of the frontispiece
