Justification: This species is endemic to the Seychelles island of Mahe, the precise locality is not known but other members of the family are restricted to cloud forest habitats. This species has not been recorded since 1892 and may be extinct. If it survives it is probably threatened by habitat deterioration caused by invasive plant species and climate change. The extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of this species are estimated at 20 km2 based on potential habitat. Therefore, this species is assessed as Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct). Source: www.iucnredlist.org/details/196224/0
