Hi !
Is it possible to create another kind of gallery apart from the 'Extinct Art' and 'Photographs' ?
A gallery with all pictures that we forum-users found in books or the internet ? This could be sorted alphabetical by scientific names.
(My vocabulary has grown a little because I use an translater now)
Bye Alex

That would only possible when I will make a new board for that. But even than members can only post photos and images with the normal img tags. Thus when the url of that photo changes it cannot be seen here anymore.
The forum has the option to make posts with attachments, but that will cost money every month.
A better option would be to find a place on the internet that the forum will use where images will be stored. I can also use the web space of my website. I will look into this, because it is a good idea!

Hi Noisi,
i am not sure, whether this is such a good idea. Well, the goal of this forum is to provide as much as possible knowledge and pictures in a free form. But in contrast to (e.g.) Wikipedia we are only a small forum and I don't know if you are loosing perhaps the overview and therefore the interest if you are putting hundreds of photographes in one board. But maybe I am wrong and it will be better looking than i have thought.
Melanie.

That is also why I mentioned to find a storage site that we can use. For the people who want to use it.
I also don't like to make a board about this, because links get broken when they change.

Hi ! I have no idea of how to make a gallery ! It was just a suggestion. I saw that in other forums and found it a good idea, but I really dont know how to create such a gallery. But we would need webspace only for that, right ? It also was not thought as a gallery but more as a library for pictures. Photographs we found or scanned pics from books. Anyway this could be problematic for us as all these pictures are not our own and this is forbidden as far as I know. Bye Alex

There is free gallery software available on the internet. I will look into it and will see what to do with the copyright of images.

Pete, did you receive the new pictures I sent you? I'm afraid I made a mistake in the sending of my images...
