Partula auriculata was a tree snail species endemic to the north of Raiatea, Society Islands. After the introduction of the carnivorous Rosy Wolfsnail (Euglandina rosea) to the islands in the late 1980s, species began disappearing rapidly. By 1992 there were few left and no live individuals of Partula auriculata were found during surveys in 1992, or in any survey since. Old shells were found in 1994. www.iucnredlist.org/species/103142290/103142636
