Reasons: Formerly restricted to the Coosa River mainstem in St. Clair County, Alabama. Not found during recent surveys of the Coosa River mainstem (Bogan and Pierson 1993). The shoals of the Coosa River mainstem have been largely inundated from the influence of impoundments. Formerly endemic to Coosa River in St. Clair Co., Alabama, but not reported since the river was impounded (Mirarchi, 2004).
