Reasons: Presumably eliminated following the impoundment of the Coosa River mainstem (Bogan and Pierson 1993). Formerly endemic to upper and middle reaches of Coosa River; also in some tributaries in Alabama, but not reported since the river was impounded (Mirarchi, 2004).
