Reasons: Not found during recent surveys of the Coosa River mainstem, where the shoals have been largely inundated from the influence of impoundments. Formerly endemic to Coosa River from St. Clair to Elmore Cos., Alabama, but not reported since the river was impounded (Mirarchi, 2004). Global Range Comments: Formerly known from the mainstem of the Coosa River in Alabama where it was not found in recent surveys (Bogan and Pierson 1993).
