Rounded Global Status: GX - Presumed Extinct Reasons: Only ever known from fossils and one live population in Nevada. Reported occurrences from Oregon refer to another species, P. ARCHIMEDIS. Recent investigators have failed to find any living individuals. Global Range Comments: This species may have only occurred in Pyramid Lake in Nevada where Hershler and Thompson (1987) confirmed its description from rehydrated material from historic live collections. Material collected from Oregon by Hanna (1930) was mistakenly identified as P. NEVADENSIS (Frest pers. comm. 2000). www.natureserve.org/
