According to the Field Guide to Butterflies of Seychelles: Their Natural History and Conservation (published in July 2014), this species, known as the Seychelles Leopard, was endemic to the Seychelles granitic islands where it was recorded from Mahé, Praslin and Silhouette. It was reported as abundant in 1908-1909. It was last collected in 1953 with more individuals seen between 1956 and 1960.
