Hi! I am desperately looking for some photographs or drawings of feathers from extinct birds (particularly recently extinct birds, as well as 1600 onwards). I suppose not all are documented but as many photos of feathers from extinct birds would be amazing. I am an artist, and i'm doing some work about extinct birds. i would prefer pictures of individual feathers if they exist. I am willing to buy a book if anyone can point me in the right direction. Much appreciated!

Hello! I have photos from these three species.: Labrador Duck ( Camptorhynchus labrdorius) Laughing Owl ( Sceloglaux albifacies) Norfolk Island Pigeon ( Hemiphaga spadicea) scanned from Erroll Fuller 'Extinct Birds', the quality is somewhat bad, but in the original it is bad too You may furthermore find photos of Huia feathers and feathers of unidentifiable Moa species in the internet. I hope that is alittle help for You!

You're right! Thanks. These feather and others like it were used to teach school children about the Huia. They are indeed quite similar.
