Does anybody know what species of bird is being referred to in the following extract of an abstract?: The arrival of the dingo in mainland Australia is believed to have caused the extinction of three native vertebrates: the thylacine, the Tasmanian devil and the Tasmanian native hen. Wikipedia says that it is "doubtfully distinct". Does anybody know whether it is generally regarded as valid, or doubtful?
