Long Time Wildlife Viewing Area Could Become a Killing Field. ALL Federal Wildlife Refuges in Alaska are at Risk! The Skilak Wildlife Recreation Area (Skilak WRA) is a 45,000 acre prime wildlife viewing and photography location and has been so for over 30 years. The Alaska Board of Game has recently authorized opening this small portion of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge to the hunting of wolves, lynx, and coyote.
