Corals have been dying off in large numbers since the '90s; elkhorn and staghorn corals specifically have been ravaged by climate change, hurricanes, coral bleaching and a myriad of issues. Losing coral reefs wreaks havoc on these fragile ecosystems, and threatens many organism's survival in these habitats. Coral is recognized as “threatened”, but the National Marine Fisheries Service is pushing for them to be reclassified as “endangered”. takeaction.takepart.com/actions/whos-protecting-our-coral?cmpid=tpenviro-eml-2013-07-26-gadgetsI can't able to sign that petition when i entered the zip code,it says --- (The specified US ZIP Code is invalid). I remember this same happened before twice in that same site.So i can't sign any petition from that site.I am not American. But many of you people can sign it. I remember one more petition which i can't able to sign before many days where it was mentioned as it is only for Canadian citizens.Sure anyone can start a petition and restrict it for only their country members. Its just when i saw that petition,i wondered if different country people also can be involved then that petition can be signed somewhat faster.Anyway..
