I thought we would have a thread for this species, but wasn't able to find anything. Valvata klemmifamily: Valvatidae This (and others too - but which?) was rediscovered in 2007, but there seems nothing to have been published since then. Good News from Biodiversity Research Nowadays, there seem to be only bad news coming from biodiversity research: habitat fragmentation, species extinction, biodiversity crisis, invasive species. Bearing these scenarios in mind, the Systematics and Biodiversity Group organized a student field trip to nine Greek Balkan lakes. The results, however, are more than encouraging: four mollusc species were found that were previously thought to be extinct for, in part, more than 50 years (one of them is the figured Valvata klemmi). Furthermore, two potentially new mollusc species were found, which are currently characterized genetically. The reason for the sudden reappearance of these species is so far unknown - the enthusiastic field work of the students from Giessen, however, certainly contributed significantly to these positive findings. source: www.uni-giessen.de/cms/faculties/research-centers/ifz/picture-of-the-month/october-2007?language_sync=1
