Brian Acord (California Department of Fish and Wildlife) informed me that this species has been rediscovered. "The type specimen was collected by C.P. Alexander in 1947 from King's Creek Meadow, LVNP. Extensive collecting in LVNP in 2011 and 2012 did not yield specimens of adults or larvae of P. extensa from other streams within the Park. However, in 2013, adults and larvae were collected from several small tributaries of King’s Creek. In 2013, larvae were also collected from a small creek in the Hat Creek drainage, about 1.6 km up the trail to Paradise Meadow, LVNP (Givens 2014)." treatment.plazi.org/id/013D307BA70FFF93F0EEFD3540EDF98C/7
