This swallowtail from Brazil has not been seen since 1923 and is presumed extinct.

Hi ! How much was its wingspan ? I found only a measurement of its next living ancestor. This was 47 mm. I dont know what that should mean, the wingspan or the length of its boby ?

Eurytides iphitas is known from old specimens from SE Brazil in coastal mountains, but has not been seen since early in this century. May represent a spring form of E. dolicaon deicoon (which it resembles only smaller and yellower,) but it is generally regarded as extinct. male recto male verso
