Justification: This species is endemic to the Seychelles island of Mahe where it has only been recorded from Morne Blanc.
The habitats of this species are deteriorating due to the effects of invasive plant species, especially the tree Cinnamomum verum. Since the species was last recorded in 1972 habitat degradation has been severe in the only known locality (Morne Blanc) and it may now be extinct. The area of potentially suitable habitat remaining, and potential extent of occurrence (EOO) of this species, is 20 km2. Therefore, it assessed as Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct).
