Justification: This species is known from only two records; on Silhouette island it has not been recorded since 1894 and on Mahe it was last recorded in 1972. Its current estimated current area of occupancy (AOO) is 1 km2 and it is known from only one location. Any surviving population will be threatened by habitat degradation caused by invasive plant species. Therefore, it is assessed as Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct).
