Justification: This species is endemic to the Seychelles islands of Silhouette, Curieuse, Recifs and Fregate. It is known from the first three islands in 1905-9 and Fregate from 1972 but has not been recorded subsequently.
This species has a severely fragmented and highly restricted range; it has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of 10 km2. It is associated with very vulnerable coastal habitat that is being degraded by significant coastal erosion caused by development and sea level rise. These threats have probably resulted in the loss of most populations since 1909. In 1972 one population was identified but the species has not been located since, despite searches of potential habitat. Any surviving populations will be at high risk of extinction. This species is assessed as Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct).
