Justification: This species is endemic to the Seychelles island of Praslin where it is known from a single specimen from the Vallee de Mai.
This species is know from a single specimen collected in 1972. Searches of the type locality and similar habitat have failed to locate it. If this species survives it occurs at very low densities. The area it was recorded from is palm forest which is deteriorating in quality due to the effects of invasive plant species. The invasion of the area in recent years by the crazy ant Anoplolepis gracilipes probably represents a serious threat to any surviving populations. The extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of this species are estimated at 5 km2. It is assessed as Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct).
