The species has been found in recent surveys close to Sibonga, on the southern part of Cebu Island, Philippines (Poppe et al, 2012). Poppe et al. (2012) commented that there are historical records of another species A. magistra which is from Dalaguete further south on Cebu Island, Philippines, and this appears identical with A. phloiodes, which would extend the range.
