This species is endemic to Greece and was originally known from five locations, all on the island Samothrace: the type locality; Sources and Bach above Therma; and two other sites (Bach Katsabas below Chora, and sources at the roadside near Palaiopolis). Recent surveys in 2004 and 2008 have failed to find the species at the river near Alonia village, the small stream above Therma village, and the two water sources above Hora and Xeropotamos River (Radea and Georgiev pers. comm. 2010). The species is considered Possibly Extinct (Radea pers. comm. 2010).
