Many of these species are only known by rock paintings, fossil bones and legends
Procoptodon goliah. It has a height of 3 m and a length of 3 m. It was walking on 2 legs. The diet was leaves.The legend of Yamuti is probably based on this species. It was died out 22.000 years ago. Another prehistoric kangaroo was Sthenurus.

The legend of Yamuti is told by the Aborigines. It tells the story of a gigantic animal similar to the kangaroo or the wombat which where seen by the ancestors of the Aborigines (Adnyamathanha). Only shamans where able to see the Yamuti.

Procoptodon Procoptodon, a giant kangaroo found in Australia during the Pleistocene epoch. A giant among large kangaroos Procoptodon stood over 3 meters tall it is easily recognized by its short face and large single functioning hind toe.
